A homemaker is a person who takes care of a family and the place where the family lives. Typically, women are responsible for doing this job, whereas men are the providers of the homemaking job. However, both men and women can be providers and homemakers.

Job Description for Homemaker:

Job description for a homemaker may include, but are not limited to, the following:

Advises and assists family members in planning nutritious meals, purchasing and preparing foods, and utilizing commodities from surplus food programs. Drives children to schools, team sports, music lessons, and more; Assists head of household in training and disciplining children, assigns and schedules housekeeping duties to children according to their capabilities, and encourages parents to take interest in children’s schoolwork and assist them in establishing good study habits. Advises family in private home in dealing with problems, such as nutrition, cleanliness, and household utilities; Maintains clean home and cleans the clothes for family; Explains fundamental hygiene principles and renders bedside care to individuals who are ill, and trains other family members to provide required care.

  • Divide the Homemaker Resume into separate sections and subsections along with short paragraphs and bulleted points to make it easily legible.
